Answers to "American History"

1. I think the story will be about President Kennedy.

2. Some ways that Elena and Eugene are alike is they both are from the same background. Another thing is nobody really likes them at their school. They both get picked on . 

3. To summarize the story from the end of pg. 567 I would say there is a girl named Elena who gets picked on a lot in school mostly from African Americans. This girls lives in a building that looks like a prison. When she looks out of there bedroom window she can see  into someone else kitchen. A old couple lives there until someone dies and the old couple moves. A little while after a little boy named Eugene and his family moves in and she still  watches  into their kitchen. She is crushing on Eugene but she is scared to talk to him because of what he will think so she basically stalks him.

4. The 1st column  on pg. 568 reflects the heritage traditions and attitudes of the writer because Elena talks about the traditions her and her family. It reflects her attitude because she says how she is going to start thinking about the present instead of the future.

5. What's significant about t Mr. Depalma' s behavior is he acts rude and starts to show his real feelings. He acts as if the world is over. What it shows about  him as a person is he has no self control over himself. Also he really cares about American History and  bettering the world .

6. It is ironic that Elena and Eugene have chosen to study the subject American History because the title is called American History. Also because on the day that they were suppose to study the president died and now today that is American History.

7. What id revealed about the writers attitude and discrimination and prejudice is she doesn't think it's positive and she don't agree with it. I said this because in the beginning of the story Elena gets picked on by African Americans and she talks about how it makes her feels.
